Preparation is key to creating AMAZING portraits. The time and energy you put into planning your portraits
will reflect in the final outcome of your images, so please plan carefully and follow the tips below.
Clothing
For your portraits, bring a wide range of clothing, your favorite, a classic, something fun & funky. Wear outfits
that you feel reflect your personal style. Please bring your accessories: shoes, jewelry, belts, hats, scarves,
anything to complete your look. Avoid clothing with words, stripes and busy patterns.
It's better to bring more than not enough!
Hair
Wear it how you like it best and what your are comfortable with. If you’re going to try a new style or cut,
plan ahead, do it at least a week or two before your session. Light hair spray will help with loose ends. Guys...
five o’clock shadows cannot be retouched. If you don’t like facial hair, shave before your session.
Make Up
Ladies, wear makeup as if you are preparing for a normal day. Bring powder for touch-ups to reduce shine.
For dramatic black & white images, consider applying heavier makeup towards the end of your session.
Hands
Your hands and feet will be in pictures. Manicures and pedicures will look great!
Glasses
Talk to your optometrist about borrowing a set of frames without lenses or have them remove your lenses
and replace them later. Eyeglass glare requires retouching, and sometimes is difficult to eliminate
completely. Please plan ahead!
Personal Items & Props
I’ll work with anything so bring it along. Uniforms, awards, cars, instruments, hats, sports equipment...
whatever is YOU!!! Sports gear looks perfect on the field, you want to go there? No problem!
Friends, Family Members & Pets
Bring them with you! Simply inform me ahead of time.
Sun
Please don’t overdo your tan. Moderation please, tan lines are difficult to retouch.
Clip images from magazines, bring your favorite CD covers,
we'll get CREATIVE, have a BLAST & create AWESOME portraits.
